Terracotta head of a goddess

 

Greece, last quarter of 5th century BCE (analogous in Southern Italy and Sicily)

 

Ochre-coloured ceramic clay, moulded. Head of a goddess wearing a diadem and a high palmette on her head. Fragment. Classic Dorian type. The original fragments with reddish-brown polychrome have not been preserved.
